Bio
The first patient I had was my grandmother, we decide we did not want her in some place that would not care for her as she deservered (No Home) My Gram was diagose 15 years ago. She got anything and everything she could possible want. Her wishes were to be comfortable at home and that is what she got. Cancer is a terrible disease. To watch someone you LOVE fade away before your eyes. As I maintained all faucets of her life, I was so surprised in what I seen and was educated on. With my Gram, From giving her medications 6 times a day and making specially made meals, she also had specially made cups of buillion 8 times a day for her sodium levels which were not staying with her system. Daily medication, oral shots form, special meals, bed sores, bathing, taking her on little trips (when she felt well enough) At the end the meds were increased so much, I did not even know my Gram.
Actually Denise is my BestFriend. At the age of 15 her fisrt piece of her leg was taken. (Foot to below knee) Again 2 years later the rest was taken from the knee to thigh. Mean while she was also going thru an Ostomy (Urine Bag) and a Colostomy (BM bag). Then again at 21 her left leg was taken from her foot to her knee again. She is a double Amputee. I have been thru this with her from the begining and I am in for the long hall. During this time, I have given oral meds., maintained and cleaned feeding tubes, given shots when necessary. Maintained her medications, helped her clean the above named bags. Made sure when in bed or whelchair she was not in to long becasuse of bed sores. Which we have sucessfully close (They were quit Large). Plus the pay off of helping her raise her two newphews, whom are now 17 and 21 years of age. One was an infant and the other was 3 years old when she took over their care.
During this time her Grandmother whom was also in the house, recd, medical attetion from me also. Oral Meds, shots, bed sores, lifting up from sitting position because of her knees were growing knee to knee. Bladder problems (Both).
